Getting Started
How do I set my daily water goal?
Go to Profile → Daily Goal and tap the goal row to edit it. Enter your target in ml or litres and tap Save.
How do I log water intake?
On the Home screen, tap any container card (Glass, Sipper, Bottle, Cup) to instantly add that amount. For a custom amount, tap Custom and enter any value with an optional label.
How do I change the measurement unit (ml / litres)?
Go to Profile → Daily Goal, tap the goal row to edit it, then tap the unit button (ml / l) to toggle between them. Save to apply.
Reminders & Notifications
How do I set up water reminders?
Go to Profile → Reminders (or tap the bell icon). Enable reminders and choose:
- Interval mode — remind me every X minutes/hours within a time window
- Specific times — choose exact times during the day
Why am I not receiving notifications?
- Make sure reminders are enabled in Profile → Reminders
- Check that WaterCue has notification permission:
- iOS: Settings → Notifications → WaterCue → Allow Notifications
- Android: Settings → Apps → WaterCue → Notifications → Allow
- On some Android devices, battery optimisation can delay or block notifications. Go to Settings → Battery → WaterCue and set to Unrestricted.
Reminders stop after I reach my goal — is that a bug?
No, this is by design. WaterCue automatically cancels scheduled reminders once you hit your daily goal. They resume the next day (after the next app open that re-schedules them).
Language & Display
How do I change the app language?
Go to Profile → Language. Tap the language row to open the picker. Search by name or scroll the list, then tap your language.
The app opened in the wrong language. How do I fix it?
On first launch WaterCue auto-detects your device language. If it chose the wrong one, simply go to Profile → Language and select your preferred language.
Does WaterCue support right-to-left (RTL) languages?
Yes. Full RTL layout support is active for Arabic. When you switch to Arabic, the entire app layout mirrors on the next app restart.
Purchasing & Refunds
Is WaterCue a subscription?
No. WaterCue is a one-time purchase. Pay once and own the app permanently — no monthly or annual fees, no in-app purchases, no ads, ever.
What do I get with my purchase?
Full access to all features: water tracking, reminders, history, dark mode, 27 languages, container customisation — everything, forever. All v1.x updates are included at no extra cost.
I purchased the app but it's not showing as purchased on another device. What do I do?
- iOS: Open the App Store, tap your profile → Purchased, find WaterCue and re-download. Or go to WaterCue on the App Store and tap Get— it will say "Redownload" if already purchased.
- Android: Open Google Play, search for WaterCue. If already purchased, the Install button will appear without any charge.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are managed by the platform you purchased from, not by Vikthi AI:
- iOS / App Store: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find WaterCue, and request a refund. Apple typically processes within 48 hours.
- Android / Google Play:Open the Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Order history → WaterCue → Request a refund.
Data & Privacy
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored locally on your device in an SQLite database. Nothing is uploaded to any server. See the full Privacy Policy.
Can I back up my data?
In v1.0, there is no export feature. Your data lives on-device. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all data.
Does WaterCue work offline?
Yes, 100%. WaterCue requires no internet connection at any point.
Does WaterCue collect any personal data?

Containers & Customisation
How do I customise the size of a container (e.g. my actual glass is 180ml)?
On the Profile screen, tap the ✎ (edit) icon on any container card. Enter your actual size and tap Save. You can reset it to default with the Reset button.
How do I add or remove containers from the quick-add row?
On the Profile screen, tap any container card to toggle it selected / deselected. At least one container must remain selected.
History
How do I edit a past entry?
On the Home screen, tap the ✎icon next to any entry in today's list. For past days, open the History screen, select the day, then tap the ✎ icon.
How do I delete an entry?
Tap the 🗑 (trash) icon next to the entry and confirm deletion.
